Realizované projekty

Here you will find an overview of the projects that have received a grant from the Media Literacy Academy. These projects were created by the participants of the Media Literacy Academy and were implemented between December 2020 and April 2021. They range from multimedia online games to traditional paper books and for a variety of target groups: from primary school pupils to people with special needs to the elderly.

Pupils of the 2nd grade of primary school created a concept of school news Povrly News as part of the subject Creating a school magazine. These news are intended to inform the pupils of the school, their parents, as well as the school staff about what is happening in Povrly Primary School and Kindergarten in the form of short informative videos.

Basic School Frýtland

In a project day dedicated to the topic of Media Literacy, students and teachers shared their experiences with social networks, learned to verify the truthfulness of information and to be aware of the intentions of its creators. In a follow-up activity, they created their own text to evoke emotions and observed the reactions of those watching.

The aim of the project was to create a school magazine. Pupils participated in the preparation of the issue and worked on various media education topics in different forms of media communication.

Projekt sestává ze dvou hlavních částí: Z webinářů, v nichž představujeme téma mediální gramotnosti a poskytujeme konkrétní nástroje, jak jej uchopit a využít v praxi. A ze zařazení tématu mediální gramotnosti přímo do činnosti asociace, tedy do soutěžních středoškolských debat.

Pupils of the second grade of primary school worked with the topic of misinformation during the Project Day. After they learned to understand and recognize misinformation, they tried to invent and spread misinformation in a school game.

The project, aimed at children from socially disadvantaged families, showed them in worksheets how photographs can be deceptive, how to find out whether they are true or not, and why not to believe everything that is stated on the Internet.

The project included a series of interactive workshops involving youth. The aim was to create an environment that is as close as possible to the real experience of young people with the online environment.

Worksheets on the basics of information verification were created and tested within the project and will be adapted for secondary schools. The final step of the project will be to create workshops on media literacy and cyber security.

The project included a workshop in which students learned the basic information needed to navigate the media, verify information and identify misinformation. Through follow-up activities and discussion, they learned to be aware of the dangers of misinformation and to behave responsibly when sharing it.

The workshop will introduce the basic concepts of media education and misinformation. In subsequent activities, students will apply their knowledge to analyse texts published on social networks. The aim is to teach children not only to recognise manipulative and misleading messages, but above all to be aware of their risks and their impact on society.

The project is aimed at creating a series of talks for primary school pupils on media literacy. In the introductory lesson, children will learn the basic principles of working with information and recognizing fake information and safe behaviour on social networks, and in the follow-up sessions they will follow up with activities deepening the acquired knowledge and skills.

In the media literacy course, the children worked with specific examples of advertising, in which they looked for misleading information and manipulation or hidden advertising, and tried preparing their own advertising. The children learned about what advertising is and how and why it is produced, and they also became aware of its risks.

Within the project, an interactive workshop Don't Believe Everything was created with the aim of improving awareness of the possibilities of using and the risks of the media world. Participants practiced how to recognize false or distorted information and how to search for relevant sources to verify the origin of the information and its veracity.

The project has created an interactive game that uses a series of videos and related materials available on the website www.fakestories.cz to raise awareness in a simulated reality about the fact that people on social networks do not have to tell the truth, how to verify the trustworthiness of people we communicate with on social networks, and the possibilities of AI.
